Power View, a feature of SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 Enterprise Edition, is an interactive data exploration, visualization, and presentation experience. It provides intuitive ad hoc reporting for business users such as data analysts, business decision makers, and information workers, allowing them to easily create and interact with views of data from data models based on tabular models deployed to SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS) instances. Power View is a browser-based Silverlight application launched from SharePoint Server 2013 that enables users to present and share insights with others in their organization through interactive presentations.
Power View allows reports with multiple views to be created, featuring tiles, slicers, filters, and a number of visualizations, including cards, small multiples, and bubble charts.
This topic provides a quick tutorial on how to create reports through Power View. Note that in order to follow these steps you will need a valid user with access to the Intelligence solution, access to at least one table, and permission to create intelligence reports.
Note that the reports created in Power View must be managed in Modulo Risk Manager, which includes selecting a perspective and audience for each. For details, see Chapter 16: Intelligence -> Intelligence Solution Reports.
