ERM Queries

This section provides orientation on managing queries through the ERM solution.

ERM queries are search features that allow you to look up information on enterprise risks, strategic objectives, enterprise objectives and loss events registered in the system. Query results can be viewed through a table or, in the case of enterprise risks, through a risk matrix. Any custom scales created for enterprise risks in the Scales section of the Administration module can be selected to generate the matrix. The scales used in the risk matrix can be customized in the Scales section of the Administration module, if needed. For details, see Chapter 4: ERM -> Risk Matrix.

With the exception of Attachment, Georeference, Image, Outline, and Relationship (multi-select) attributes, all default properties and any custom attributes created for enterprise risks, strategic objectives, enterprise objectives and loss events will be available as filter and column options.

You can save queries to run them later and display the most recent results. The display settings and scales selected for the risk matrix will also be saved and do not need to be set again. This way, when you run a saved query, the query will be displayed as the last time it was saved. Note that if a scale used in a saved query is deleted from the system, the query results will be displayed using the default scale.

People or groups can also be included in the audience of these queries. Audience members and the authors of the queries will then be able to view them in the Queries section of the Home module as well as in the ERM solution as long as they have the adequate permissions. Note that only the author of the query can edit or delete it.

In addition, you can create copies of queries of which you are the author or an audience member, which can later be edited and run. This allows you to create a new query with the same settings as a previously registered one. However, note that, in the results of the copied query, you will only be able to view the information to which you have permission.

Query results can also be exported to SQL tables through an integration task, which can later be used to create custom charts and tables for reports through Report Designer or for charts in the Dashboard module. For details, see Chapter 17: Administration -> Integrations -> Integration Tasks -> Creating a Task to Export Queries to SQL Tables.
