Chapter 7: Policy

This chapter provides orientation on managing policies in the Policy module. This module is provided on demand and is fully integrated with the rest of the system.

Policies are standards and internal rules that serve as work and conduct guidelines for companies, employees, partners, and service providers. The effectiveness of these policies depends on a solid process for managing their lifecycles, which includes writing, reviewing, approving, and publishing them, along with ensuring attestation by the employees to whom each policy applies and establishing a process for managing exceptions.

The Policy module provides a complete and customizable framework for managing the publication, maintenance, and distribution of policies. During policy creation, statements can be created as subtopics for the policy, with each statement containing any number of subordinate statements. Optionally, revision workflows can be started, where the system automatically notifies the reviewers and approvers assigned sequentially and informs those responsible for the policy when the workflow is completed so that the policy can be published. Once published, policies can be distributed to audiences for attestation and later updated if necessary.
