The system uses collector servers to manage requests for automated collections in technology assets. Modulo’s collector service (modSIC) must be installed in each collector server to be used in automated collections. This allows for distributed data collections, since there may be various collector servers across the network infrastructure. For more information on how to obtain modSIC, please contact the Support team.
If the organization has several branches, a collector server can be installed in each, which will then by managed by the Modulo Risk Manager system server (located at the organization’s headquarters, for example). This distribution results in a lowered data load transmitted between the branches, and thus does not impact the services that depend on the network (see figure below).
