Cancelling Events

This topic explains how to cancel events, available through the Workflow module. When activities necessary to finalize an event are not possible, we recommend cancelling the event instead of closing it. Only open events can be cancelled. Once cancelled, events cannot be reopened or closed, but can be deleted from the system.

If you cancel an event that includes child events, the child events will also be cancelled; however, they will only be cancelled if they are open and if you have permission to them. Therefore, closed child events will keep their status. Note that if you have permission to cancel a parent event but not to cancel all of the child events, the system will not cancel any of the events. However, if you select a number of events to be cancelled and have permission to cancel some of them, the system will only cancel those to which you have permission.

Keep in mind that if a treatment event is cancelled, the risk or non-compliance that was considered "Being Treated" in the corresponding project will become "Not Evaluated".
