This topic provides orientation on managing aggregated queries. These queries can access information from several data sources and return grouped results, filtered by the information you want to view. For example, through an aggregated query, a police officer can access the data sources of the Motor Vehicle Registration Division and the New York Police Department, and enter the name of a person in one of the query filters. The results will display any registered incidents associated with that person's license and criminal record. In other words, an aggregated query allows queries to one or more data sources to be executed through a single interface (in this case, the Integration module).
To register an aggregated query, all the queries to be used as data sources must first be registered in the system and then must be configured as data sources in an XML file located in the installation folder for the system. Next, aggregated queries can be assembled in the XML file, using the previously configured data sources, and executed to view the results. For details on configuring aggregated queries, see Appendix -> Configurations for Aggregated Queries. In addition, you can associate aggregated queries so that once one is executed, associated aggregated queries can subsequently be executed. A PDF report can then be generated for each result entry, listing all the results from associated queries that are related to one or more parameters of the result selected.
