How to End Dispatch Requests

This topic explains how to end dispatch requets, which can be completed when a dispatcher assesses that no further actions need to be taken for that request (for example, when there is no need to send service units or after the service units that were dispatched to the location have already provided assistance).

Once completed, the dispatch request is no longer displayed in the Occurrences tab and on the map. In addition, the associated occurrence is automatically completed, preventing other dispatches from being performed. Note that requests with assigned police cars cannot be ended.

1.    Access the Dispatch solution.

2.    Click Manage Dispatches.

3.    In the Occurrences tab, click End Request () next to the dispatch request you want to end (see figure below). You can also access this feature by clicking Edit () next to a dispatch request and then clicking End Request. Only requests with the "Pending" or "Awaiting Completion" status can be completed.

The system displays a pop-up where you can end the dispatch request (see figure below).

Note: This window will also automatically appear when the "Completed Assistance" field event is added to the last unit associated with the occurrence.

4.    In the Final Category field, select the category that best describes the occurrence. This category may be different from the initial category.

5.    In the BOPM field, enter the number of the military police Occurrence Report using up to 30 characters.

6.    In the Occurrence Registration Number field, enter the registration number for the occurrence using up to 30 characters.

7.    In the Additional Information field, enter any additional information on the occurrence, respecting the limit of 1,000 characters.

8.    To end the dispatch request, click End Request. If you want to quit the operation, click Cancel.

The system displays a success message.

Note: When the dispatch request is completed, the status of the occurrence will be changed. The new status of the occurrence will be "Completed without Assistance" if no dispatches were completed through the "Completed Assistance" field event. If one or more dispatches were completed, the status of the occurrence will be changed to "Completed with Assistance" in the occurrence report.
