1. Access the Knowledge module.
2. Select CPEs from the Risk Knowledge option on the menu.
3. In the CPE section, click Create and select Create Common Platform Enumeration (CPE) option (see figure below).
The system displays a screen where information on the CPE Name can be entered (see figure below).
4. In the Name field, enter a name following the standard structured by the CPE.
5. In the Description field, enter information that helps identify the technology for which the CPE name is being created.
6. In the CPE Dictionary Version field, enter the version number of the CPE Product Dictionary on which the CPE Name is based.
7. When finished, click Save. If you want to quit the operation, click Cancel.
The system displays a success message.
8. Click the List CPEs link in the upper right corner to return to the main list.
